This painting shows a railcar sitting on an abandoned siding, flanked by two defective telegraph poles.

“Abandoned Rail Siding,” Camp N (Sherbrooke, Quebec), 1941. This watercolour was painted by Robert Langstadt (1912 – 1987) with paints donated by the YMCA and a brush made from his own hair.
